“What stayed with me most was the sense of place. The family land, the Queensland roads and the desire to still call Oz home give the book an emotional centre that keeps pulling you back.”

“Music feels like a second language throughout the book. Songs, guitars, memories and moments from the road continually cross over, giving the writing its own unpredictable rhythm.”

“This isn't a conventional memoir. Diary, family history, fiction, humour, hardship and personal reflection sit beside each other in a raw record of one man's experience of a changing world.”
